Duncan Black Band were Scottish Dance Band of the Year at the 2017 Scots Trad Music Awards, and Duncan, holder of the coveted Jimmy Shand Shield, is recognised as one of Scotland’s top accordionists.

THE EVENT
This midsummer evening of food, wine, music and dancing will kick off with a welcome drink and classical music followed by a 3-course dinner, ceilidh and Scottish country dancing until dusk. Familiar favourites such as Canadian Barn Dance, Dashing White Sergeant, St Bernard’s Waltz and Strip the Willow will be called, as well as traditional ball dances such as Eightsome Reel, Duke of Perth and Mairi’s Wedding. Our caller for the evening is Feuar Alan Dickson, who runs Reels Club at Edinburgh Academy. Alan will be offering ticket holders the opportunity to learn the dances in the two weeks leading up to the ball – register your interest when you make your ticket application. Tickets are £80 to include seat, welcome drink, meal, and dancing.
