One of the UK’s most prolific Wiki writers Stephen Dickson reveals how to find out more about your city, houses & people who lived there.

In his spare time, Stephen Dickson has become a walking encyclopaedia of the people, places, of Edinburgh writing over 1000 Wikipedia articles and researching into many features of the Moray Feu. His prolific research puts him as one of the UK’s top wiki writers and a protected editor. His talk will take us through the world of Wikipedia and how we can all take a journey of exploration to find fascinating anecdotes about our city, our houses and the people who lived in them.

Stephen Dickson

Stephen Dickson is a senior planner who has overseen many developments from Edinburgh Old Town to New Town. An expert on Edinburgh’s cemeteries he has also worked on unusual projects including the complete restoration of the famous statue to Greyfriars Bobby, rebuilding the Flodden Wall at the Pleasance, floodlighting of Edinburgh Old Town and Calton Hill and in more recent years the total restoration and remodelling of Waverley Station.
